Setting them up
Open Departments
On the Chart tab choose "Departments".
Add one
Enter a code of up to 12 characters and a name, and press "Add".
Use it
A Department box now appears on bank lines, journals and bank rules for that client.
Reporting by department
The "Balances by department" report has a column for each department. The nominal ledger, day books and transactions reports can be filtered to one department. Departments can be archived, and are never deleted.
