Accountin vs IRIS Elements

IRIS Elements is IRIS's cloud range for practices, with separate modules for tax, accounts production and practice management. IRIS moved Taxfiler customers to it when Taxfiler closed in 2025.

Where IRIS Elements has more today

IRIS Elements files with HMRC and Companies House today, and covers full FRS 102, charities and group accounts on its Enterprise tier. IRIS also sells practice management, anti-money laundering checks and company formations as Elements modules.

Moving from IRIS Elements or Taxfiler

Each client needs its latest trial balance, which becomes its opening position in Accountin. Where Taxfiler practices can move covers the Taxfiler dates.

Accountin's filing status

Accountin is opening to its first practices. Year-end accounts, Companies House filing and the corporation tax return come first. Filing at Companies House switches on once Companies House issues Accountin's own filing credentials, and submission to HMRC switches on once HMRC has recognised Accountin. VAT and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax follow as HMRC approves each one.
