Adding the details
Open Settings
Choose Settings in the menu and find "Filing details".
Companies House
Enter the presenter ID, the presenter authentication code and the email address for filing receipts.
HMRC
Enter the Government Gateway user ID and password under "HMRC corporation tax". The same login is used for Self Assessment, payroll, CIS and P11D filings.
Save
Press "Save filing details". Each field then shows "Saved" or "Not set". Saved values are never shown again; leave a field blank to keep what is saved.
How they are kept
The presenter authentication code and the Gateway password are stored encrypted and used only at the moment of filing. Every change is written to the audit log.
VAT and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax work differently: the owner connects the practice's agent services account to HMRC. See connecting to HMRC.
Filing with Companies House switches on once Companies House has issued Accountin its own filing credentials. Until then the filing buttons show a message saying live filing is not switched on yet.
Filing with HMRC switches on once HMRC has issued Accountin its own vendor ID. Until then the filing buttons are greyed out, and the return can still be prepared, printed and approved.
